IDAC Technical Sales Engineer Job Vacancy

IDAC is looking for an additional member to its engineering sales and marketing team. This position will help you develop your engineering ‘business sense’ and ‘professional outlook’ as well as exposing you to a multitude of exciting engineering technologies and forward looking businesses.

In the first 12months, your main responsibilities will be to develop a contact network through marketing initiatives such as:

  • Generating Seminar audiences.
  • Case study writing and exploitation.
  • Creating monthly eNews.

Your initial business will come from selling ANSYS Support contracts to existing IDAC Customer Accounts and by developing existing business opportunities and leads. You will uncover sales opportunities in areas such as: Software, Consultancy and Support that will often need you to assist in the development of FEA analysis benchmarks, demonstrations and solutions. It is expected that you would progress to more core sales activities in your second to third year.

Candidates should posses a recently acquired engineering degree, have experience of using and an enthusiasm for the FEA/CFD/CAE tools seen on IDAC's website. Candidates should also have good engineering awareness, be competent at using Microsoft Office products.

Candidates will have a confident and outgoing personality as they will eventually be expected to make corporate presentations, manager customer meetings and progress sales opportunities by telephone. Applicants are not expected to have direct sales experience to be successful in winning this position; they will instead have a good grasp of science, technology and engineering as well as drive to win business by exposing IDAC as being the best in its field. IDAC has a friendly atmosphere and is willing to develop the successful candidate through internal sales training and ‘on the job’ support.

Salary: circa £20k rising to £36k OTE in first/second year. Successful applicants can expect to be earning around £50k in their third year of employment.
