ANSYS Workbench
EMAG - Magnetostatic

Who is the course for

This course is designed for engineers wishing to perform magnetostatic analyses of low frequency electromagnetic devices containing solenoid, switches, coil windings, permanent magnet etc in the ANSYS Workbench environment. Magnetostatic simulations are implemented in the ANSYS Workbench Simulation using the three-dimensional SOLID117 edge formulation element available in ANSYS. The knowledge will be valuable when other low frequency electromagnetic analysis types in ANSYS are rolled into the ANSYS Workbench Simulation in the next future. You should have a fundamental understanding of electromagnetic fields and should have already attended the ANSYS Workbench Simulation Introduction course or have relevant experience in using the ANSYS Workbench Simulation interface.

*Note: ANSYS DesignModeler is needed to prepare the simulation model   including the enclosure and coil windings.

Duration:

2 day

Course Aims:

To be able to:

  • Prepare a 3D magnetostatic simulation model in ANSYS Workbench environment
  • Perform a 3D magnetostatic analysis and calculate force, torque and magnetic fields
