Simulation Heat Transfer

Who is the course for

This course is for engineers who wish to expand their knowledge in the use of ANSYS Workbench Design Simulation and have already attended the ANSYS Workbench Simulation Introduction course.

Duration

2 day

Course Aims:

To be able to:

  • To review the mechanisms of heat transfer.
  • To understand which heat transfer mechanisms are important for a particular analysis and how to model them.
  • To become familiar with the material properties and the boundary conditions required for heat transfer analyses.
  • To be able to deal with nonlinear thermal analyses.
  • To perform a transient thermal analysis.
  • To analyse surface to surface radiation and phase change problems.
  • To understand how thermal/flow elements work and to be able to use them in simple applications.

Topics covered

  • Heat Transfer Basics
  • Nonlinear Thermal Analysis
  • Transient Analysis
  • Surface-to-Surface Radiation
  • Phase Change Analysis
  • Use of Simple Thermal/Flow Elements
