Description: This course covers the basics of using Simulation to perform structural and thermal analyses.

Who is the course for: This course is for engineers who wish to learn how to use ANSYS Workbench Design Simulation effectively and efficiently.

Prerequisite: Should have a basic understanding of structures and how they respond to mechanical and thermal loads.

Duration: 2 days

  • Use Workbench Design Simulation to understand the characteristic behaviour of your structure.
  • Use Workbench Design Simulation to optimise the design of your structure.
  • Create a comprehensive report to distribute to customers and colleagues.

  • Design Simulation Basics
  • General Preprocessing (geometry branch, contact, meshing)
  • Static Structural Analysis
  • Results Postprocessing (viewing, scoping and exporting results; coordinate systems, solutions combinations; stress singularities; convergence)
  • CAD & Parameters (CAD Interoperability; multiple design studies; parameter manager)

Day 2

  • Free Vibration Analysis
  • Thermal Analysis
  • Linear Buckling Analysis
  • Shape Finder
